The Package Engineer will be responsible for engineering and delivering various mechanical packages and pieces of loose equipment for a floating production facility in the Gulf of Mexico. The engineer will be a member of the Mechanical team and will lead contract mechanical engineers, liaise with equipment vendors, and work with the greater Project team.   They will be responsible for delivering mechanical system engineering and design, supporting associated purchase orders and contract awards, and managing fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of their assigned work scopes possibly including: 
       ‐     Boarding Shut Down Valves
       ‐     Pig Launcher/Receivers
       ‐     Production Chokes
       ‐     Oil Export Pumps
       ‐     Heat Exchangers
       ‐     Interconnecting Piping
This person will understand project management of change, how to interface with project controls, and how to properly manage engineering deliverables as they progress through the different phases of a project.  
Location/Travel: 
This position will be based at the topsides engineering contractor office in Metairie, La. but may require up to 10% of time at Chevron's downtown Houston offices during project engagements/workshops/assurance activities.
The job may also require periodic onshore travel to job sites and offshore travel by helicopter with overnight stays.  
Project Management and Teamwork:
Demonstrated ability to manage standalone mechanical packages as well as function in a supporting role when required.  Experience interfacing with equipment vendors to deliver packages aligned with project cost and schedule.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships with engineering contractors, project team members, business unit managers, and operations personnel.  
Technical Knowledge:
Demonstrated experience delivering mechanical engineering deliverables for skidded pumps, API 6A valves, pig launchers, and various utility systems.
Proficient knowledge of mechanical offshore construction, installation, and commissioning with significant experience in offshore brownfield facility modifications.  
Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying API RP 14C, ASME B31.3, pipe stress modeling, and material selection. 
Communication:
Candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to maintain clear direction within a multi‐discipline team.
